Our Community

The Manchester, NH Community is Important to Us!

We were born and raised in Londonderry, New Hampshire, then established our landscaping company in Manchester. We know what it’s like to be part of a community. The community has given our business phenomenal growth, due largely in part to the confidence that local homeowners and businesses place in us to do the job right. It’s only natural that we want to give back.

Funds are limited for everybody, and there’s no shortage of needs out there. In the list below are a few non-profit organizations we have chosen to donate time, materials, and funds when we’re able to.

We really believe in the value these local organizations provide to our community. Giving back and paying it forward – it’s what being a good neighbor is all about!

Boys & Girls Club of Manchester

At the Boys & Girls Club in Manchester, kids have a great opportunity to develop a strong work ethic and a purpose for life.

We love this organization because kids learn how to use their time constructively and their curiosity is allowed to break loose.

When we heard they had a need for an exterior makeover due to foot traffic wearing out parts of the landscaping outside the front of their building, we rounded up the landscape crew and headed over there with boulders, mulch and plants that were donated by a local wholesale nursery. The coordinators of the event had provided us with their own crew of eager do-gooders: the kids that belong to the Boys and Girls Club!

We had a great time that day working with these kids and providing a much-needed solution for their landscape.

New Hampshire School of Ballet

The New Hampshire School of Ballet gives boys and girls an opportunity to excel at an art that is very physically demanding and requires a lot of focus.

At Giant Landscaping, any organization that supports kids, athletic achievement, and teamwork in our community is very important to us. That’s why we support The New Hampshire School of Ballet.

For more than 30 years they have been providing excellent dance training in ballet and jazz, and more recently, tap. Over that time, there are many students of NHSB who have gone on to perform on the national stage, Broadway, and even on the Boston Celtics

The purpose of this golf tournament was to raise money for scholarships and tuition aid that would give the opportunity to students who otherwise could not afford it. Why else would the owners of one of the largest landscaping companies in Manchester, New Hampshire ,would take Monday morning at the busiest time of year to play golf?

Manchester Youth Soccer

Provides a competitive and fun team sport environment to boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 19 who live in the Manchester area.

Growing up in Londonderry, New Hampshire, we had great access to all kinds of sports. We played them when we could, when we weren’t working, that is. Sports are a great way for kids to get physical and grow up strong. It also keeps them away from bad influences and bad habits.

As landscapers, we recognize the value of physical activity. Who knows? Maybe someday these kids that we sponsored in the Manchester Youth Soccer League will grow up healthy and strong and want to work at Giant Landscaping!

Manchester Animal Shelter

The animal shelter on Dunbarton Road provides a valuable service for those in our community who can’t speak or fend for themselves.

In some ways pets are more loyal than people, and yet totally dependent on us. The Dunbarton Road Animal Shelter in Manchester, New Hampshire, are unsung heroes to our four-legged friends.

We were happy to provide a Giant Landscaping gift certificate for the shelter to raffle off in order to raise funds to cover their operations costs.

Neighborhood Works

Provides home-buying assistance services to individuals who may be hardworking families but for one reason or another are unable to purchase a home.

We found out about this organization through the realtor we purchased our building in Manchester from. In addition to home-buying assistance, Neighbor Works also helps existing homeowners manage their budgets to meet the challenges of homeownership and upgrading many low-income housing neighborhoods to become better places to live.

Our involvement this year with Neighbor Works is simply to help sell some tickets to their fund-raising event in October. This is a great organization that helps homeowners in our community – and one that we will be looking at supporting in the future.

The Salvation Army

Christmas can be a stressful time when funds are tight for growing families. One cause we wholeheartedly believe in here is The Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army’s red kettle campaign funds local programs for low-income families such as providing meals for kids or Christmas programs like Toy Shop – where over 1100 low-income families receive gift cards to help relieve some of the financial burden they feel at Christmas.

We have supported The Salvation Army by volunteering to ring the bell at the kettle for the past 6 years. It’s such a small sacrifice but it spreads so much joy around the holidays. We have a lot of fun too!
